For 12 years, I was teaching air conditioning and refrigeration at the local community college. While teaching at the college, I have personally seen the advances in technology that the HVAC industry has been experiencing first-hand. More specifically the HVAC design processes in both traditional and ductless mini-split systems that are becoming more and more popular here in the United States.
Teaching the design process over the years has given me a sound understanding that a quality installation starts with a quality design. And a quality design starts with the understanding of the sometimes tedious ACCA Manual J, D, and S procedures. With advances in building materials, homes and buildings are becoming tighter and the old school way of sizing HVAC equipment is simply just guessing. As a former HVAC instructor, a licensed contractor, and a certified trainer on designing HVAC systems, I personally understand what it takes to get the job done correctly. This is evident in the hundreds of projects we have been apart of with builders, contractors, and homeowners across the nation.
After attending factory training classes on new technologies that include traditional and duct free systems, new building materials and construction techniques, It became apparent that contractors need to have a deep understanding of the Manual J,D and S process to properly design HVAC systems. While teaching these new and advanced design processes to both students and seasoned HVAC contractors, it became apparent that I needed to use this knowledge to form a business that focuses solely on helping contractors and homeowners understand these new building methods and provide quality load calculations.
